Foundation in Arts (Fashion Design)
A Foundation in Arts (Fashion Design) is a preparatory program that can give you the skills needed to successfully complete an undergraduate degree. This introductory study of fashion design can help you better understand the qualities and skills needed to be successful in the fashion industry. You may get hands-on experience manufacturing clothing alongside courses designed to help you better manage your time while at university. You may gain a variety of skills during this program, such as effective communication, portfolio development and drawing techniques. Not only will these abilities help you succeed in an undergraduate degree program, but they can also serve you well in your career.

Foundation in Arts (Graphic Design & Multimedia)
The Foundation in Arts (Graphic Design & Multimedia) programme is tailored to provide students with a direct
route into CityU’s Bachelor in Graphic Design (Hons) & Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons). The core graphic design
& multimedia modules integrated in the programme prepares students to work with solid design concepts. Students shall be able to translate their vision and ideas into tangible materials using computers equipped with the current graphic design capabilities. In addition to that, the programme also aims to strengthen English proficiency among its students with its comprehensive English modules.

Diploma in Graphic Design
The diploma provides a sequenced studio approach to design thinking and problem solving for visual communication, preparing learners to thrive in a dynamic professional environment. Learners are introduced to visual concepts in two and three dimensions. In second year, learners specialize in graphic design coursework / studios which emphasize from form and communication to graphic design and typography that address authorship, audience, and medium.

This programme offers an exciting curriculum that provides learners with the expertise needed to deliver creative results in the art and business of visual communications. Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons)
This qualification prepares graduates to create and distribute web-enabled and other digital media. Industry-standard and innovative new software is used to create application projects. Coursework addressing multimedia standards, the graphics business and emerging technologies provides a foundation for the tracks. It imparts our learners the ability of creative thinking especially in managing information for interactive news, entertainment and strategic communications.

Doctor of Philosophy in Design

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design is aimed at exploring new ideas, approaches and procedures to the theories and practices of creative design and media. Critically and innovatively armed with the ability to think beyond norms, anchored with powerful research methods in design and procedures, this programme critically challenges human minds to make significant and original contribution to the existing body of knowledge or as new knowledge. This would help to the growth of a range of economic activities which are concerned with the generation or exploitation of knowledge and information. Creative design attributes are becoming more and more diversified and are nowadays exist in many sectors of creative industry and businesses. Students may pursue their research work in various different fields of design practices and activities ranging from service designers, social designers, communication designers and product designers. The programme offers the opportunities to work the experienced supervisory in creative and innovative design research team in areas of creative industry. This effort and conceptual exploration with technology, strategic design thinking, aesthetics and conceptual dynamics of effective communication towards more sustainable futures.

- Other Master's Degree or equivalent that can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment with the approval of City University Senate; or
- Bachelor in Design or equivalent from University recognized by the Malaysian Government with CGPA not less than 3.70; or
- Has enrolled for a Master's program and presented a research proposal and has been granted a Senate approval to upgrade the Master's Research Proposal to the PhD Program; or
- Other qualifications equivalent to a master degree that are accepted by the University's Senate; and
- Candidates are required to submit an initial/mini idea paper as part of the application process
